This award funds a proposal from campus equity advisors to bring Scott Page, a specialist in diversity, to campus for a discussion around growing health disparities.

Professor Page received his BA degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan, followed by an MA in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, and both an MS in business and PhD in managerial economics and decisions from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is currently a professor at the University of Michigan and with a primary interest in diversity and the role that diversity plays in complex systems and how it affects robustness of an organization. He is the author of three books on this topic: The Difference, Complex Adaptive Social Systems, and Diversity and Complexity. In addition he has published numerous papers, and a video course on complexity. His has been an invited speaker in academia from high schools through universities, government agencies, and for corporations.
