The Office of Interdisciplinary & Cross Campus Affairs (ICCA) is pleased to announce two funding opportunities, including a new opportunity to bring outstanding scholars to Campus to promote interdisciplinary and cross campus education, research, and service at UCLA. In addition to the Visiting Speaker funding, ICCA will also be accepting proposals for its Symposia, Workshop, and Planning Meeting funding opportunity.
The goal of these programs is to encourage Schools, Divisions, and other units to find areas of mutual programmatic interest and to support faculty in their exploration of these intersections.
These opportunities are open to all regular UCLA faculty members. Proposals must include collaborations of faculty from multiple schools or research units to be considered for funding. Priority for both awards will be given to collaborative events that engage a diverse range of faculty and/or students across schools. For more information specific to each opportunity, please visit the pages listed above.
Application for Spring awards are due Friday April 14, 2017.
Announcements for Spring awards will be made as soon as possible, but no later than May 15, 2017.
Proposals should consist of a narrative describing the purpose and expected objectives of the proposed event(s) including the target audience. In addition, each proposal must list the involved faculty, their school affiliation and their role/contribution to the event. Each proposal must be accompanied by a budget including any additional sources of funding as well as a budget justification.
Proposals may be funded in whole or in part at the discretion of the Review Committee. Proposals for Visiting Speaker awards may request up to $15,000. In the case of Symposia, Workshop, and Planning Meeting proposals, no single award will exceed $5,000 for proposals involving workshop or seminar series or $2,500 for proposals for a single workshop/seminar/planning event.
Please see the individual opportunity pages listed above for specific application forms.
